Cristóbal Lehyt inició sus estudios de Licenciatura en Artes en la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile y posteriormente continuó su formación en Hunter College y el Whitney Independent Study Program de Nueva York. Actualmente es Assistant Professor en The Cooper Union School of Art de Nueva York.

Entre sus exposiciones individuales destacan Given a Wall, What’s Happening Behind It? (Johannes Vogt Gallery, Nueva York, 2016); Sol Chileno (Die Ecke Arte Contemporáneo, Santiago, 2014); Iris Sheets (Americas Society, Nueva York, 2013); If Organizing Is the Answer, What’s the Question? (Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts, Harvard University, 2010); Drama Projection (House of Propellers, Londres, 2010) y Cristóbal Lehyt (Museo de Artes Visuales, Santiago, 2010).

Desde 1995 reside en Nueva York, Estados Unidos.
